the cops are back on out-­&#8208,er and they came with their typical and unmistakable raw sound. it consists in 4 swinging crispy house tracks, deep atmospheres meet techno into a journey that will bring you straight into the anlogue cops’ dimension. on the flip, 2 collaboration with great injuries and stanley a take place to complete this totally analogue project. what makes this release so concrete and at the same time old school is the tape recording that characterize the whole ep, in it all the sounds are melted and result very consistent.

objektivity is starting the year with launching the long-awaited vinyl-only sub-label called obj analogue. the concept behind this is that in order to make the record, it has to be totally hardware based!

a couple of years ago, the young italian producer known with the name of shinoby got in touch with parris mitchell and started collaborating with him. in a very short time one of the tracks they wrote together was released along the remaster of -all night long-on wicked bass, and another one he wrote on the juke joints vol. 2 ep on deepmoves. istheway is the name of the label he founded to release the music he has been producing in the shades of verona, focusing on the music itself and not wasting time and efforts on fancy, superfluous stuff. on the first release of the label, his lively and solid dancefloor oriented tracks has been remixed by the analogue cops (restoration records) and the detroiter mgun (underground resistance) who have further modeled an essential combination of late night cuts with their trademark basement edge. vinyl only!

first release of the new label run by dj soch aka marco socci and it starts with a bang! dj soch is one of the resident djs at the serendipity club, after the positive experience of mind your hate records he feels the need to have a platform for his rougher sound. -coney island- honors the true house sound of chicago, but with that modern twist to move any dancefloor. the analog cops rendition takes all the key elements of the orignal and brings everything to another level creating a new wild pitch sound. -funky dry- is the most functional track here. it s a great funky techno tune perfect for the peak time of the night. black angus records is only vinyl don t miss it!

r002 sees a long-time jaunt favourite deepa & biri, take centre stage. the israeli duo have long been considered expert producers by those in the know, with releases on the likes of gigilo, transmat and their own black crow imprint very much indicative of the fact. the basement cuts ep, meanwhile, goes some way to solidifying this fledgling reputation. full of psychoactive tendencies and brimming with otherworldly sounds, the title track sees the pair delve deep, as they summon up a cut thats notable for its obsessive eye for detail and an unfurling array of captivating sounds.

echno upstarts south london analogue material return with their second release. this time label head ansome takes the reigns over four tracks of blistering industrial techno. redlining kick drums and ferocious percussion are pick of the day here. also includes two fantastic remixes from clouds and joefarr. hand screened sleeves and limited to 250 copies!

while some of you might think of planet rhythm as one of those old labels from back in the day, it may not necessarily be the correct judgement. not only is it a product of its past achievements, but it is also pushing things forward in the present time, with woo york being one of a few new artists emerging from the imprints recent catalogue. that said, 2014 starts with ukrainian duo taking over planet rhythm headquarters as the labels proprietors and getting in charge of all of its future development. first out of press is the duos own ep highlighting their shift towards brand new, hardware-driven studio setup. from abstract tb-303-ish structures of acid rain, through the building peaks of analogue swamp, a perfect example of stripping functional techno, to come closers uplifting trance-y melodies and the closing sequence of strobe 1, this record is shaping up to be woo yorks strongest release to date.

quality over quantity is the guideline of berlin-based techno label analogue audio. after 3 successful eps plus one remix release, the no.5 is chipped in by label head dominik vaillant, who signed broombeck and raphael dincsoy for the remixes.

parassela is the studio and live project of blawan and the analogue cops. their first release on their own label with the same name has become a collectors item in less than 40 days. now the project lands on restoration, featuring the appearance of pariah on track a1, a crossover monster of techno and garage. getting darker, a2 is an unfriendly radio-activity with a gloomy chicagoid reminiscence.

analogue mapping sees meanwhile founder robert lawrence return to production duties as bovill in requisite fashion after a four year absence. in this time lawrence has focused on establishing the london label as a worthy outlet for the deeper echelons of techno with material from murmur, sven weismann, bvdub and conforce. spread luxuriously across two slabs of vinyl, the six tracks allow bovill to make room for soothing, dubby moments that ease you in as well as productions characterised by their driving drum and chord arrangements. see the spine tingling opener so it goes for evidence of the former whilst neap and hunt or herd? provide perfect examples...

nicz records presents its first release by ukraine-based myztical. an ep inspired by early 90-vibes, dance music, night life and field recordings. canadian kevinmcphee concludes the ep with his deep and straighforward attitude-remix.

2013 repress !! highly recommended! deep, strong and relentless, this is the first full length e.p. of the analogue cops on their own label restoration. as usual, an unquestionable raw force is summoned by the abrasive touch of their experienced hands on incorruptible machines, without any mean computer involved in their operations.

is it balearic hit their late 20s with another superb release - this time craig bratley steps up with analogue dreams. craig has earnt quite a reputation from only a handful of releases, including the weatherall favourite and classic cut >birdshell< on instruments of rapture. on analgue dreams, craig lays down a gently evolving, acid tinged piano slow burner, all mood and melody. first up on the remix we have the ever essential bonar bradberry who amps things up and takes a clonking bass riff down the disco for a real good time. on the flip crimea x pare the musical elements right down and build an epic remix from the raw ingredients, employing live percussion and shimmering synths. finally joes bakery dial down the tempo and incorporate some deft acoustic guitar and gentle moodswings alongside the musical elements of the original.

its the idea of doing an analogue only version of peoples interpretations of songs that they chose off of the album. so i approached four of my favourite producers of the moment that i felt fitted with the whole project. luke solomon
